n4a's 5th Annual "Early Bird" Walk

  • Who should attend? Anyone who wants to implement a walking program

    There is no charge to participate but advance registration is required.

    Active Aging Walk Seminar

    Presented by: Julie Milner, Vice President, Education, International Council on Active Aging

    This Walking 101 program takes place outside and is a progressive, multilevel program designed to help you get the most out of your walking programs. Walking 101 will suit the needs of any fitness level. This session shows you how to increase the intensity of a walking workout by engaging more of the body’s muscle groups, resulting in increased cardiovascular benefits.

    You’ll learn how to: Start a walking program, adapt walking programs for all fitness levels, and build the intensity of walking workouts.

An Evening at the Historic Ryman Auditorium
A Fund Raising Event to Benefit the n4a Older Americans Disaster Relief Fund Sponsored by: Humana

  • Often referred to as the “Mother Church of Country Music,” the Ryman is a National Historic Landmark and the former home of the Grand Ole Opry

    Enjoy a tour of this historic site, go backstage, see the dressing rooms and even have your picture taken on the stage that has been graced by legends such as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond and more.

    This will be a memorable evening, one that you will remember for a long time. Who knows, you might even get to meet some Country Music legends, all while benefiting the n4a Older Americans Disaster Relief Fund.

    Refreshments will be served.

    Non-refundable cost of $20.00. Pre-register on the conference registration form or online.

    All proceeds will benefit n4a’s Older Americans Disaster Relief Fund which provides direct funding for aging services in disaster zones, to coordinate services, and to pay for costs associated with dispatching professionals to aid in the effort.

    This event is sure to be the highlight of the conference! n4a attendees will be treated to a private evening at Nashville’s famous Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, home of America’s music since 1967. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to enjoy fine food and a taste of some true Nashville entertainment.

    Located on the west bank of the Cumberland River, just a few steps from the historic Ryman Auditorium and the honky-tonks of Lower Broadway, the monumental edifice, a visceral experience for approaching visitors, invigorates the skyline in downtown Nashville’s entertainment district.

    Inside, the Museum presents the crown jewels of its vast collection to illustrate country music’s story as told through the turns of two centuries. A treasure trove of historic country video clips and recorded music, dynamic exhibits and state-of-theart design, and fabulous public spaces all contribute to an unforgettable museum experience.
