After an $8.5 million renovation, this National historic landmark and former home of the Grand Ole Opry has once again stepped to center stage as a premier performance facility. By day, displays inside the Ryman visually tell the stories of its rich history. By night, the sounds of musical productions fill the air.

Cost: Museum rates: $8.50 adults; $4.50 children (4-11).

Hours: Museum open daily 9am–4pm. Evening show times vary.

The Carl Van Vechten Gallery features the renowned Alfred Steiglitz Collection, a permanent exhibition, spotlighting such artists as Georgia O’Keeffe, Arthur Dove, Pablo Picasso, John Marin and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

Known as the “Queen of the Tennessee Plantations,” this 1853 Greek Revival mansion was world-renowned as a thoroughbred stud farm and nursery. Today, tours of the mansion, grounds and colossal Carriage House come alive with guides lavishly dressed in period costume.

Cost: $10 adults; $8.50 seniors; $4 children (6-12); free (children under 6).

Hours: Mon–Sat, 9am–5pm; Sun, 11am–5pm. Last tour daily at 4pm. Handicapped accessible except second floor of mansion.

Cheekwood features the award-winning Museum of Art housed in the original Cheek mansion. The surrounding 55 acres include an interactive learning center, ten botanical gardens and the Woodland Sculpture Trail.

The 90-minute NashTrash Tour begins at the Farmers Market, and travels throughout downtown Nashville. You’ll ride past major country music sites: the Ryman Auditorium (home of the original Grand Ole Opry), the Wildhorse Saloon (as seen on CMT), historic Printers Alley, and the beautiful Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The bus also cruises along legendary Music Row before returning to the Market. As an added bonus, we’ll even drive past a spot where some of our idols have spent idle time — the Nashville City Jail!

The Parthenon stands proudly as the centerpiece of Centennial Park, Nashville’s premier urban park. The re-creation of the 42-foot statue Athena is the focus of the Parthenon just as it was in ancient Greece. The building and the Athena statue are both full-scale replicas of the Athenian originals.
