Dear Colleagues:
It’s that time again. If you have been a regular participant in the n4a Annual Conferences, you know that it will soon be time for our n4a family to get together. Each year we take you to some of the greatest destinations across the country. This is a conference for Area Agencies on Aging and Title VI programs, coordinated and planned by Area Agencies on Aging and Title VI programs. This year the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging and our local planning committee in Nashville, TN, have worked incredibly hard on this year’s conference program. This event promises to give you an inside look at the premier issues on aging, sprinkled with that famous southern hospitality. What better way for you to learn about the latest trends in the network and have an opportunity to visit a world class city. If you haven’t been able to attend in the past, why not choose this year to get out and learn new things, and have some fun with us in Nashville?
Since we last met, we have advocated for you on a number of legislative issues. We have represented you, working to expand your role as major players in new long term care initiatives. We are completely redesigning our website–in order to offer you more information and services than ever before. All of these initiatives and more will be on display at the n4a 2008 Annual Conference & Trade Show.
I am truly excited by this year’s program. We will be offering workshops that will guide you in running your agency, focus your programs toward the future, and develop and motivate staff. Speaking of motivating your staff, why not have them attend? Attending the Annual n4a Conference will allow you to develop that team spirit you have been trying to develop for the last couple of years. Whether you bring the entire staff or attend alone, I know that you will all leave enriched with knowledge and with new professional aging network contacts that will assist you in working toward your agency’s goals.
I have become a loyal attendee of the n4a Annual Conference over the years. The lessons learned at the conferences have allowed me to be a better leader in our region and to represent you as president. For thirty-three years, n4a has brought you the best that our network has to offer. The road to Nashville is calling you. I look forward to our paths crossing again this July.
See you in Nashville!
Charles Sisson
President
